The fire chief is a farmer fulltime and a chief part time who has no idea what he is doing. He prides himself on having no certifications. He does not believe in furthering his employees careers or higher education. He also has had numerous problems with the state ethics board. He has also sexually harassed several female employees and was never disciplined for it. incidents that are going smoothly will immediately turn to chaos upon his arrival.
The department itself has a modern fleet, very progressive EMS system, and great employees.
The fulltime staff are great, the majority of the call members are great as well. Not many officers are qualified to be doing their jobs. The fulltime fire prevention captain isnt even qualified to be a call firefighter but has been there forever so it doesnt matter. The EMS “captain” makes alot of money in overtime but doesnt do much actual work, most of it falls to the EMS lieutenant who does remarkable work.
