The Panama City Fire Department (PCFD), established in 1912, has evolved from a volunteer organization into a modern, full-service emergency response agency. Serving a coastal community of approximately 38,000 residents across 41 square miles, PCFD responds to around 6,000 calls annually. The department operates five strategically located fire stations, staffed by 86 personnel working in three 24-hour shifts. Its fleet includes four engines, a ladder truck, a tower truck, a rescue truck, and a fire boat, all equipped to deliver basic life support medical care.

PCFD is renowned for its specialized capabilities, including Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Team 101, a Joint Agency In-Water Strike Team (JAWS), and a dedicated dive team. These units are trained to handle complex rescues such as confined space, structural collapse, and water-related emergencies.
