The Miramar Police Department used to be a highly regarded department, you said you worked there and people were impressed. Unfortunately as of today its one of the worst departments you can work for in South Florida. Since 2015 over 50 people have left the 200ish maned department with close to another 30 that have retired earlier then required. The department has become a toxic work environment with zero accountability. The new chief Delrish Moss has created the friends and family discount within the department, helping out his previous collogues and friends to positions with high pay and superior benefits. You have chief, 2 deputy chiefs, 2 assistant chiefs and a XO. Close to a million dollars in salary’s just for the top command staff. The FOP is the labor union that represents the body, boy do they stay busy filing grievance after grievance after grievance. Unfortunately Delrish is not 100% to blame since he has a boss he reports to and that man is Assistant City Manager Adam L Burden a former City of Miami Police officer (where Delrish started his career). Adam Burden controls every single thing that happenes within Miramar Police Department and if you stand in his way he will forcefully remove you. It truly is a shame what the once great Miramar Police Department has become and its only going to get worse.
