The current Sheriff focuses on the happiness of the public rather than supporting his employees. He constantly posts about leadership and the great work ethic he does on social media, yet he couldn’t lead a fly to a pile of ****. He is soft on crime and restricts his employees from protecting the public, all so he can get votes. He’s a hypocrite, compulsive liar, and gaslighter that should never be allowed to serve in a position of power.
The administration is full of “good ol’ boys” and discipline you for having a different opinion. When they do discipline you, it’s usually behind your back and a secret instead of having an open discussion. They continuously lie to your face. They say they allow deputies to pursue and arrest suspects, but they refuse to actually let you do it because they’re scared of lawsuits. Proactivity is frowned upon, but admin will say they encourage it. Again, lies to the face.
Morale is at the bottom of a crater. Every single deputy is miserable because of the lack of support. Union president and vice president are greedy for their own personal gain and refuse to take opinions from anyone else. Promotions are only an option if you are female or a minority (again, public opinion matters… DEI).
Yes, it’s a “red” county, but it’s run by people who don’t have a brain. The State’s Attorneys Office is incompetent and unable to actually prosecute anything. Getting a felony charge approved is nearly impossible. Judges keep letting out violent offenders and reducing their charges.
Yet, everything on social media is about how great and happy everyone is to work here. Don’t believe the lies, don’t work here. It’s a trap.
