The Lakeport Fire Protection District, serving Lakeport and surrounding communities in Lake County, California, is the primary agency for fire suppression, emergency medical response, and public safety within its jurisdiction. Headquartered at the historic Station 50 downtown (which the district is actively considering remodeling or replacement) , the district works under a locally elected board and recently appointed Chief Patrick Reitz, who began serving in November 2021. In addition to its core emergency duties, the district engages in wildfire prevention, vegetation management, inspections, and community outreach, including programs related to defensible space and fire safety zoning.
