The Kentwood Fire Department is a professional, career fire department that serves the city of Kentwood, Michigan. It provides a comprehensive and responsible delivery system of fire protection, fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical services (EMS).

Services: BLS level non-transport medical services, in addition to fire suppression and rescue. They are also responsible for fire prevention, fire education, hazardous material emergency response, and technical rescues.
Staffing: The department is typically staffed by a full-time, career force, including a Fire Chief, Deputy Chief, Captains, Lieutenants, and Firefighters. All members are, at the minimum, trained as EMTs, and many are also trained as Paramedics. Crews work on 24-hour shifts utilizing the “Cali-swing” calendar.
