The Cañon City Area Fire Protection District (CCAFPD) is a fire protection and emergency services special district serving the Cañon City, Colorado area. It was established in 1902.
Headquarters: 3016 East Main Street, Cañon City, CO 81212.
Canon City Fire
Non-emergency administrative phone: 719-275-8666.
The District’s mission is to provide services that mitigate hazards to life and property from fire, medical emergencies, hazardous materials incidents, and technical rescue operations.
It serves a community that includes both urban and wildland‐interface environments, meaning the District responds to structure fires inside Cañon City and surrounding areas, as well as wildland/urban interface (WUI) incidents.
CCAFPD has potential to be a great department. New updated stations with a nice training grounds behind the headquarters. Decent apparatus with good upkeep. Old hose and SCBAs “scott AP 50’s and some 75’s”. Close to the lowest tier of bunker gear money can buy.
Staffing is pretty wonky with lots on mando’s during wildland season.
Feels like Firefighters come last at this department. Thus the reason for such a low review.
