Alexandria Fire Department is a career/paid department consisting of 3 full time shifts staffed at 4 per day. There are PRN employees from single role paramedics to firefighter/medics. This is a single fire department that covers a large area to include the small town it is located, rural area surrounding, and provides mutual aid to surrounding volunteer territory’s. They are unionized, local 1649. Apparatus include 2 Engines, 3 ambulances, 1 tanker, 1 grass truck, and 1 rescue currently which is being traded for a quint.
