Airdrie is a self serving department. The executive looks out for other executive members. They don’t care about the general membership.
The chief and officers only care about how they can get something out of it. This is not a department of self sacrificing first responders. This is a lazy self serving fire department that is at odds with the city itself and any surrounding departments.
Thier training is subpar, their leadership is non existent.
You can make a project that changes firefighting and get 0 accolades or promotion but if you say yes and agree with every management decision you can make platoon cheif.
I spent 18 years there and I regret every one of them. It’s an embarrassment to call them first responders.
This department cares more about themselves than the general public. They continue to call themselves “Paramedics” when not one of them has been on an ambulance in years.
The city would be served better by hiring a private company to do the role than the current department.
There isnt enough negative things I can say about this department.
Do not apply, do not work with them.
When I worked there we had bad relationships with every department around us. What does that tell you?
