Chief Busbee’s journey is one of perseverance, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the fire service.
-Started full-time with CCFR: September 3, 2011
-Previosuly served at Leesburg Fire Department (Hired under the SAFER grant in 2010)
– Joined CCFR part-time in April 2011 while working full-time on a High-Performance Rescue in Marion County
-Accepted a full-time firefighter position with CCFR, leaving Marion County Fire on September 1, 2011

-Promoted to Driver/Engineer/EMT: Oct 6, 2011
-Promoted to Driver/Engineer/PM: June 19, 2013
-Promoted to Lieutenant/PM: June 20, 2015
-Promoted to Training Captian: Oct 12, 2019
-Promoted to Battalion Chief/PM: Mar 19, 2022
As Battalion Chief, he currently oversees Battalion 1, managing 5 stations on the East side of Citrus County. His role includes directing emergency responses, managing personnel, conducting inspections, and coordinating between field operations and command staff. His leadership, resilience, and deep knowledge of emergency services continue to elevate our department.
In addition to his service at CCFR, Chief Busbee has also worked part-time for:
