About the Chief
I write anonymously out of concern for personal safety and fear of retaliation. But the seriousness of what I know compels me to speak. I believe the public and our elected officials deserve the truth — and accountability.
Key Allegations (with Specifics)
On August 9, 2025, Chief Richard Lapierre Jr. departed Halligan’s Bar in Auburn, MA, to respond to a call in West Brookfield, MA.
Dispatch logs and photographic evidence show that what should have been a 41‑minute drive was completed in 23 minutes — a speed and timing only possible if one was traveling well above legal limits.
On arrival, witnesses observed the Chief with glassy, unfocused eyes and stumbling, strongly suggesting he was impaired at the time of response.
During his tenure, the Chief has subjected union members within the fire department to repeated harassment, intimidation, and retaliation, pressuring them to abandon union affiliation.
A particular lieutenant, long known to be personally close with the Chief, appears to be acting as a collaborator — spreading misinformation, carrying out false instructions, and deepening internal divisions.
The town’s leadership, despite awareness of these behaviors, has not only failed to respond appropriately, but has seemingly reinforced the Chief’s power through raises and lacking oversight — apparently out of fear or deference.
I emphasize: I am not making unsubstantiated claims or rumors. The evidence exists (photos, dispatch logs, multiple witnesses) — I merely seek to bring them to light.
Why This Must Be Addressed
Public safety is at stake when a chief responds while potentially impaired.
Trust and morale in our fire department are being eroded by aggressive leadership and cronyism.
Fiscal integrity is compromised when leadership is unaccountable and shielded by fear.
Civic responsibility demands that officials not turn a blind eye to abuses of power.
I ask not for vengeance, but for transparency, truth, and safety. This community and its first responders deserve a standard of leadership that commands respect through ethics and competence — not fear or favoritism.
