Chief Glen Mungo began his first responder journey with the Brentwood Fire Department over thirty years ago, in his early thirties, while balancing an expanding family and job. He worked through the ranks to become Captain at Edgewood Engine Company 6. Years later, when he and his family moved, he again became Captain at Sagtikos Company 4. Passionate in his ability to do and learn more than he had in lower-ranking roles, Mungo campaigned for Chief and won, entrusting him to perform and acquire new knowledge as a firefighter.
Mungo has worked hard to learn the department’s bylaws and policies, and he will proceed to acquire a key understanding of these important foundational tools during his tenure as Chief of the Brentwood Fire Department.
Compassionate is a word used to describe Chief Glen Mungo by those around him. The department’s membership appreciates his willingness to see all points of view in hard situations. Understandably, at times, tough decisions have to be made, and Mungo is willing to make them.
