Fullerton Fire Department is a career municipal fire agency serving roughly 22 square miles from six stations. The department provides all-hazards response, including structural and wildland firefighting, ALS emergency medical services, rescue, hazardous materials response, fire prevention, emergency preparedness, and statewide mutual aid. Front-line operations include six ALS engine companies, Truck 1, a battalion chief, and city-operated ambulances, with Station 1 also serving as headquarters. In 2026, Fullerton brought ambulance transport in-house, expanding its control over EMS from initial response through hospital transport. The department handles roughly 16,800 incidents annually, participates in the California mutual-aid system with Cal OES apparatus, and has earned an ISO Class 2 rating that takes effect November 1, 2026.
