Sean McGee is the current Fire Chief of St. Johns County Fire Rescue in northeast Florida. He was unanimously confirmed by the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners on March 19, 2024 after serving as Acting Fire Chief since October 2023. 

Chief McGee has a 25-year career with St. Johns County Fire Rescue, rising through the ranks from firefighter to Battalion Chief, a role he held for 11 years before becoming chief. In his career, he has been deeply involved in key departmental programs and initiatives such as firefighter hiring processes, aerial operations, marine rescue development, airport operations liaison duties, and the Aircraft Rescue Firefighting Program. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations/Communications along with numerous specialized fire service and public safety certifications.
