Fire Chief Shannon Langford joined the City of Southlake in 2025, bringing more than 30 years of experience in fire service, EMS, and public safety leadership.
Before his appointment in Southlake, Chief Langford served with the City of Farmers Branch Fire Department as Assistant Chief of Operations, Deputy Chief of Administration, and Battalion Chief of Training and EMS. He also spent nearly two decades with the City of Allen Fire Department, where he advanced through every rank from Firefighter/Paramedic to Administrative Captain.
Chief Langford holds a Master of Science in Management from Texas A&M University–Commerce and a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences in Emergency Management Administration from West Texas A&M University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He has earned multiple advanced certifications in fire service, emergency management, and leadership.
His career has been recognized with numerous honors, including the Fire Chief’s Golden Eagle Award, the Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce First Responder of the Year Award, and a Life Saving Award from Rockwall County EMS.
