Kevin Good brings a solid technical background in emergency medical services and is clearly well-versed in the field. Unfortunately, strong EMS knowledge doesn’t always translate into effective leadership.
In my experience, Chief Good’s management style often comes across as controlling and unsupportive. Communication lacks transparency, and decisions sometimes seem driven more by personal bias than by fairness or the best interests of the department. Morale under his leadership has noticeably suffered, particularly among team members who have served in the military and feel their contributions aren’t valued as they should be.
Leadership in a fire department should model integrity, professionalism, and respect for all personnel. Unfortunately, these qualities appear to be lacking in Chief Good’s approach.
