Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) is the country’s national fire and rescue service. Its crews respond to fires, medical emergencies, car crashes, hazardous material incidents, and natural disasters. FENZ also works to keep communities safe through fire education, smoke alarm programs, and helping people prepare for emergencies.
Fenz doesn’t care about their firefighters. Management cares about their salaries and how they look to the public. We have old trucks , ****ty gear and we are overworked.
As we say on station , jobs ****ed but the best ****ed job in the world.
Across the country, we make do with trucks that break down while HQ burns money without consequence. The worst employer in NZ — but still the best job in the world.
