Criminally understaffed, at least with ambulances. New fire chief who hasn’t been on a rig in a decade or more. Still an aggressive department with good firemen, but young inexperienced leadership and staff that don’t care about line personnel. Last I know of they still have an ems division that is in shambles with something like 100% turnover. Single digit local that at times has pushed back against council and mayor but as of late rolls over like a beagle. The equipment is still in decent shape but the older firehouses need a lot of work, most of which is done by on duty firemen.
