The Perrysburg Fire Division (PFD) protects a population of approximately 25,161 (2022) over a 12 square mile radius. The city is divided into two fire districts with a single fire station located within each fire district – Station 38 on West Indiana Ave. (Uptown) and Station 39 on Fort Meigs Road (Levis). PFD also provides and receives mutual and automatic aid to adjacent cities and townships.
This department is more concerned about who leaks a problem than actually fixing the problem. They feel if someone does not like it, they can just quit. Their turnover is unacceptable by any true accreditation organization. They have spent thousands in an attempt to obtain this mystical accreditation over last 5 years and still not there, not really any closer. They have to lie just to make it look like they are making progress. They spend thousands in training of officers in certain operations and fail to instruct the crews, so scenes are chaotic most of the time. Only time it improves is when firefighters just do what the do and ignore officers. They do pay fairly decent, but how much is your soul and pride worth, because they will treat you as well as a hammer. They have ran the gambit in good staff and now the only people applying are people that cannot get hired elsewhere.
