Chief Brian began his fire service career with the Phoenix Fire Department in 1983 and quickly rose through the ranks, eventually retiring as Assistant Chief of Operations in 2019 after 36 years of dedicated service. A lifelong union advocate, he held numerous leadership roles in Local 493 and the Professional Fire Fighters of Arizona, and was deeply involved in national initiatives like the IAFF’s Hazardous Materials Training Program and the 9/11 Firefighters Disaster Relief Fund. His extensive education includes degrees from Phoenix College, the National Labor College, and a master’s from the University of Baltimore, along with executive training from Harvard and ASU. In 2020, he was appointed Fire Chief of Daisy Mountain Fire and Medical Department, where he continues to serve. Brian is widely respected for his leadership, policy influence, and unwavering dedication to firefighters and the communities they protect. He is also a proud father of two.
