Currently, the Azle Fire Department protects about 30,000 people and covers 8.2 square miles of city limits and approximately 20 square miles in unincorporated Tarrant County. We also have some response area in Parker County. We currently respond from one station located at 900 Lakeview Dr.
Under the direction of Chief T. (Will) Scott, the Azle Fire Department has an Assistant Fire Chief, Fire Marshal, twenty-four (24) paid professionals on three shifts, and six (6) part-time professionals. Fire / EMS crews consist of a minimum of five (5) personnel per day that work a 48 hour on / 96 hour off shift.
This department needs to fold. They can’t keep people because of checked out leadership and a city administration that doesn’t realize how close they are to something bad happening to a citizen or firefighter due to being understaffed and high call load. Morale Is bad
