The Operations Division carries out the primary function of the fire department and is under the supervision of an assistant chief. This division is responsible for but not limited to the following duties: Emergency Medical Services, Fire Suppression, Public Safety Education, Special Operations, Training.
We are a fully paid department with 100 certified personnel protecting over 70,000 citizens in 18 square miles. Operations personnel work a 24-hours-on and 48-hours-off schedule, which is divided into A Shift, B Shift and C Shift. 29 personnel are assigned to each shift. We respond out of five fire stations.
The department responds to more than 8,000 calls per year.
