Overview
The Guadalupe Fire Department in Arizona has a rich community-centric history. Here’s an overview:
⸻
🔥 Early Years & Foundation
• The department began in 1930 as an all‑volunteer force, established in response to major fires in 1925 and 1929. To combat future fires, the community united to form an organized fire response team .
• One of its earliest vehicles was a 1929 American LaFrance engine, still preserved and presented at local events .
⸻

⸻
🤝 Regional Collaboration & Specialization

• It’s also a member of the Central Arizona Wildland Response Team, contributing to both local and national firefighting efforts .
⸻
🚒 Modern Apparatus & Equipment
• In late 2018, they introduced a modern “clean‑cab” E-ONE Typhoon pumper—a Cummins-powered, 1,500 gpm engine with a 500‑gallon tank .
• This update reflects their move toward more advanced, safer apparatus to enhance firefighter readiness.
⸻
🎉 Community Engagement
• The department has a longstanding tradition of community outreach, evident in events like firehouse open houses .
• While some traditions (such as annual candy giveaways) are more specific to the California Guadalupe, AZ similarly hosts public engagement activities like Fire Prevention Open Houses .

Guadalupe is a hidden gem of the east valley. It is a small knit community with a lot of love. The membership come from all over the phoenix metro area to work. The call volume is a perfect amount some days are super slow and some you’re running your ass off. The vortex that surrounds the town brings a lot of good calls. From the violence of stabbing and shooting in and around town, to the working fires. This department boast a never boring day.
The culture, firefighters and diversity of calls make this one of the best fire stations in the valley.
